My boss hired a new guy to labor as our assistant manager.
I wanted to have a say in the process, however our boss was not interested in hearing any of our ideas… He hired an assistant manager separate from asking for our opinion on the process.
I hoped the assistant manager would labor out, however it doesn’t look love this guy wants to work, and last Thursday, I came to labor in the afternoon to labor the seventh shift, as soon as I walked into the building, I could tell there was a concern with the indoor air. It was honestly sizzling and uncomfortable. Went to the office to talk to the assistant manager. The guy told me that the cooling system was having problems all day. I wanted to guess when the service business would arrive to labor on the cooling system. The assistant manager never called anyone to fix the AC. I had to make the call and I couldn’t get someone to help until the next day. Last Thursday, our assistant manager did not show up for labor until 2 sevenths after the shift was supposed to begin. The guy barely made an excuse and he did not even try to lie. I do not believe this new guy is going to labor out. He doesn’t seem to have a enjoyable labor ethic and he doesn’t seem to appreciate the job. This is the exact reason why I wanted to have some input in the hiring process. It will not be long before all of us have to replace this guy with someone new.
