I’m all for additions to the house that make sense.
There is always room for things that add to our experience or make our home easier to deal with.
But with as much gusto, I really hate having a bunch of clutter in my house as well. So unless there’s a place and need for something, we rethink that purchase. For a while, I felt that way about the smart thermostat. It just seemed to be another gadget that would prove to be a fad or just not really valuable. At least, that was my viewpoint on the smart thermostat. My wife felt very differently about the wifi thermostat than I did. She was convinced that the smart thermostat would not only be a great addition to our home but end up as an essential home component. So we were a long way apart of whether or not to add the smart thermostat. Hey, I’m all for HVAC technology. The HVAC equipment that provides the quality heating and air in our home is proof enough of that. Our heat pump has perhaps the highest SEER rating on the market. If not, it’s really close as it’s one of the most efficient heat pumps out there. Eventually, my wife won that battle and we had the HVAC company put in the smart thermostat. Right away, I was amazed at how quickly the smart thermostat learned our patterns. From there, it just continually honed the precision of it’s HVAC equipment management. It wasn’t but the second month that not only had I not even looked at the thermostat but we saved over 15 percent on HVAC heating and cooling costs.
