About 3 months after my wife and I made renovations to our garage, we had a huge storm that damaged the ductless HVAC unit. The part of the ductless machine that sits on the outside of the house was completely mangled during the storm. My wife and I were very upset and the homeowners insurance refused to pay for the damages because of the recent renovations to the garage. My wife called a couple of different contractors and it seemed like every HVAC specialist wanted a fortune to repair the damage. It was very aggravating and annoying, because we didn’t want to pay for a brand new ductless HVAC unit a second time. We were talking to one of our neighbors about the storm damage and she recommended a friend of the family that was an HVAC repair specialist. I called the guy the next day and made an appointment. He was happy to come to the house as soon as he had an open appointment. The guy was very helpful and friendly and he agreed to help us with the damage for a reasonable price. While he was in the neighborhood, my neighbor came across the street to say hello. I could tell they have been friends for a long time, because they hugged and chatted for a long time. I felt very blessed to have such a nice neighbor to give me some help. I’m still upset that the insurance company wouldn’t pay for the damages after the storm, but I am more than thankful that we had the help from a friend.
