When my toilet started having issues flushing, I wanted to call a plumber. My dad is a very handy guy and was disgusted with me. He told me it was probably something in the tank that can easily be fixed. He gave me some really loose instructions on what to do. Have you ever opened the back of a toilet? I was expecting a lot more than I got. There is virtually nothing there! You have a plug and a string basically. I messed around with those two things for days and realized that it only controlled the water level in my toilet. The problem wasn’t that, it was getting it to flush down. Plunging the toilet wasn’t helping matters at all either. I finally gave up and just called a plumber. I am so thankful that I did now. The plumber immediately knew something was up. He told me I had something blocking the drainage in my toilet. He took the toilet right off and snaked down that pipe to find it. Turns out my girlfriend flushed a tampon that got stuck in here and was stopping my toilet from flushing properly. After it was removed, I was back in business. The cost of hte plumber was so small too. I would have paid double that price to not mess around with my toilet. He was worth every penny and from now on I am calling him and not my father. I am debating on yelling at my girlfriend for almost ruining my toilet too. Apparently her tampon could have damaged my septic system.
