I got too obsessed with DIY projects over the past 2 years, and now I have a lot of half finished junk in our garage.
I have typically struggled with finishing projects, as early as elementary school.
Whenever all of us had to build something for school, I would often waste lavish time just trying to solidify an system after typically decreasing our mind. The rushed projects would provide me awful grades in the end as well. This clearly didn’t bode well for our college ambitions, because I failed after 2 years of an encumbered effort on our part. Now I work with our hands in a factory and appreciate what I’m doing more than ever before. The work is steady and it takes the “guesswork” out of earning a living. Since our DIY projects don’t affect our work, I can make our failures in privacy in our garage. As bold as I have been with our DIY projects, I would never bee dumb enough to try servicing our own heating and cooling system. My acquaintance tried to recharge his central a/c with more coolant after successfully doing it himself in his car. I tried to tell him that they aren’t the same thing, and that over-filling an a/c with refrigerant will lead to extreme system breakdowns. He didn’t follow our advice and now he needs a new a/c. He totaled the system and he’s extremely annoyed about it. I haven’t said a word to him about it and I never method on it. At least it’s a lesson for me if nothing else—don’t ever attempt DIY work on an Heating as well as A/C system.
