My a/c stopped putting out cold air because the coils froze completely

I have a guest staying over at our lake house for another few afternoons.

They’re our in-laws and they’re visiting our husband after a few years of no physical contact between both parties.

The pandemic put a damper on his plans to travel by plane to visit his parents while in the Summer of 2020. She put it off repeatedly until they finally decided to visit us in our home. Since the guest dining room was completely ready for corporation, I saw no issue in letting them stay. However, they have done little of anything but complain and moan since they arrived. Despite cooking them all of their number one foods, they criticized our cooking at every opportunity that they could. I was heartbroken, although I could handle the criticisms over cooking at the end of the morning. What bothered me the most was their total lack of respect for our air conditioner. They would claim that it was too sizzling in our lake house and then would proceed to keep lowering the temperature until it would be set to 65 and was running non-stop to keep up with demand. When the a/c quit producing air any cooler than room temperature, I knew something was wrong with the ailing Heating as well as A/C system. As a result of our in-laws abusing our a/c, the coils had managed to freeze over with ice. This happens when the unit cycles for too long without a break. You have to stop the system for thirty to sixty minutes while the ice thaws if you want to use it again for cooling that morning.
