My cooling system stopped putting out cold air because the coils froze completely

I have a guest staying over at our house for another few afternoons.

They’re our in-laws and they’re visiting our wifey after a few years of no physical contact between both parties.

The pandemic put a damper on her plans to travel by plane to visit her parents during the Summer of 2020. She put it off repeatedly until they finally decided to visit us in our home. Since the guest family room was completely ready for business, I saw no issue in letting them stay. However, they have done little of anything however complain and moan since they arrived. Despite cooking them all of their favorite foods, they criticized our cooking at every chance that they could. I was heartbroken, even though I could handle the criticisms over cooking at the end of the afternoon. What bothered myself and others the most was their total lack of respect for our a/c. They would claim that it was too tepid in our house and then would proceed to keep lowering the temperature until it would be set to 65 and was running non-stop to keep up with demand. When the cooling system quit producing air any cooler than room temperature, I knew something was wrong with the ailing Heating and Air Conditioning system. As a result of our in-laws abusing our cooling system, the coils had managed to freeze over with ice. This happens when the unit cycles for too long without a break. You have to stop the plan for thirty to sixty minutes while the ice thaws if you want to use it again for cooling that afternoon.
