Winters in the desert are incredibly uncomfortable without a gas furnace plus a humidifier

My bestie had to move back to her hometown for a year while her mother reclaimed from surgery, plus I decided to follow her to help as much as possible.

  • I knew that she’d be taxed with her job on top of the help she’d be giving her mother.

Unluckyly, I knew really little about the place where I was about to live for the next 12 weeks. It’s a desert city in the southwest plus I had never even been further west than 300 miles from the MS River. But despite these large changes for me, I was happy to experience something new. It’s simple to get stuck in a rut plus forget that there are other things in life to experience plus enjoy. However, I’ll never forget how hot it felt as the two of us started to drive further south to reach the interstate that would take us west until the two of us reached the city of our destination. The people I was with and I crossed a few small mountain ranges before the two of us reached the desert city where my bestie’s mother lives. It was the end of the summer time so I was thankfully in store for a much-needed change in outdoor un-even temperatures. At the same time, I don’t suppose I was expecting it to be so freezing by the end of July. The elevation in this area is higher than other major desert cities, so that leads to colder un-even temperatures in the Wintertide plus in the evening, regardless of the season. The people I was with and I stayed comfortable with our heater, however it became so dry indoors that the two of us needed a humidifier too. When you take a temperature that is dry by nature, adding freezing weather plus indoor heat just makes the dryness unbearable.
