I just don’t think that most calls like that need to happen late at night or on holidays.
Sometimes the schedule that my husband has to work as an HVAC technician can be really difficult for me to deal with. He has to work a lot of late nights and weekends, and a lot of the time, he is on call for emergencies during the holidays. Sometimes that really gets on my nerves, even though he gets paid extra for being on call. I don’t know why I hate it so much, I just know that I do. I hate the fact that sometimes we are right in the middle of a family dinner or something like that and he gets a call that means he has to go right away. It’s just really infuriating whenever we get interrupted and he has to go work on someone’s heating system, their air conditioning, or something dumb like that. I just don’t think that most calls like that need to happen late at night or on holidays. Once in a while, I could understand an emergency heating call if it’s right in the middle of the winter when the temperature is freezing cold out. But most of the time, there is just no such thing as an air conditioning emergency! Unless you’re a penguin or a polar bear who lives at the zoo, there is just no reason for you to have to call an emergency number for an HVAC company to come and fix your air conditioning. I think that most people could probably wait until the next business day to get their air conditioning systems fixed. That’s just how I feel about it.
