Being in the mountains was one of our favorite vacation spots.
We met a year ago in a ski resort, and we were going back to the same resort to celebrate the place that brought us together.
We checked into the hotel around midday and headed for the mountains as soon as possible. We returned to the resort an hour later because there was an alert about an impending storm. Our suite had a spectacular view of the mountains, even from the massive tub in the bathroom. They had the best boiler system because hot water was never in short supply. With a storm coming, I could not imagine having to call a heating contractor because the quality HVAC equipment broke down. It would take hours for the HVAC tech to arrive, but lucky for us the resort boasted an impressive heat pump that kept the guest comfortable. They also had a portable space heater for emergencies. A hydronic heating system powered the heated floors in the bathroom, and one could comfortably spend hours in the hot tub enjoying the views. We also had our digital temperature control unit, which made adjusting the settings very easy. I promised myself that I would have that regulator replaced on the next call to the HVAC repairman for the annual furnace/heater tune-up. I also had a hunch that the HVAC provider would find furnace/heater repair necessary for the whole home heating system. The unit was making odd noises, and being able to control the furnace/heater installation from the suite added to the quality heating. They also had a pinned card with a logo of a particular HVAC business with some energy-saving tips.
