I just installed a nice big three blade ceiling fan in my bedroom here at my cousin’s house.
The old fan was barely turning and I was hot while trying to sleep as the air conditioning vent was barely pushing air into the room. I think her air handler is too small for all of the vents in the house, either that or the compressor is not big enough, but we need to figure out what the problem is so we get better airflow. I guess I may need to contact the people who installed it and ask them why my bedroom is so warm compared to other rooms in the house. It just seems like the HVAC company installed too many vents in the ceiling and it can’t push air through all of them with enough force, but I am not an HVAC expert so I will just call them to find an answer. I bought a high velocity ceiling fan and that is doing the job of cooling me down quite well but I still want to get the airflow in the ducts working well. I believe we cleaned the HEPA filter last month so I don’t think that is the issue, but then again it is very dusty in this house so maybe the filter got clogged up again quickly with all of the dust. I’ll go take a peek at it and see what it looks like, maybe it is riddled with dust and is restricting the airflow. Looks like today will be an HVAC system investigation day.
