Advising my sister on the best electric heating system for her inherited house

Since my sister was grandpa’s favorite grandchild, when he died, he left her a beautiful beach house.

It was quite old but in very good condition.

Since it got really cold and warm down there, she needed a unit that would solve these two issues efficiently and affordably. I had experience working as a HVAC tech and so had information on the energy saving help tips as well as the most suitable electric heating system for the house. Based on my sister’s heating and air conditioning needs, I knew the best unit would be a geo heat pump. It would be installed in the backyard and it did not need as many furnace/heater tune-ups as the other central heating systems. Though granddad had other mini-systems like the oil heater and the space heater, the house still needed a new heating unit since the current one was quite aged. Once we established the best, most efficient unit for her house and her lifestyle, we ordered it from the local HVAC corp that fortunately had a sale on the ductless HVAC system. My sister could not keep still. She was excited to renovate the house and make it as comfortable as it felt when we visited grandpa when we were younger. The boiler installation was done right before winter started and we supplied a complimentary state-of-the-art wireless thermostat that was a new invention. Winter was brutal that year but my sister confirmed that she did not even notice as the new system was more efficient than she thought. She thoroughly enjoyed her inheritance and since she is a people’s person, she often had dinner parties at the house almost weekly with her friends and some of our family members.
