I honestly thought our son was going to become an HVAC professional one day because he always took an interest in repairing window A/C units and portable heating systems. Nobody even taught him how to do this, he did the research on his own. He could have easily gone for his HVAC certification, but instead he went to a regular 4 year college. He didn’t want to become an HVAC professional, and he’s happy with the career he has. Something that really impressed me though was that he decided to install an HVAC system in his home. He did the research on DIY installation for HVAC systems and he discovered there are ductless mini splits that can be installed without the professionals. This can be done because the refrigerant lines come preloaded with compressed refrigerant. When you have everything hooked up correctly, then you can decompress the refrigerant and it will easily flow into the lines as it is supposed to. You just have to make sure that there are no leaks at all and the electric is hooked up correctly. You also need to be especially cautious when working with high voltage, or you can be killed. So it’s important to do your research before deciding to install an HVAC system on your own. Well, he made it seem easy. I always knew that he had the gift when it came to working on HVAC systems. I recently asked him if he would install a ductless mini split in my home when my HVAC eventually dies on me, and he said it wouldn’t be a problem.
