We are in the process of turning our garage into a home gym this year. This is a project that we have been thinking about completing for years now. However, when you’re married with jobs and a whole bunch of kids, there is always something else waiting in line for you to spend your money on, that’s for sure! That’s how it has been around here, and we are just now getting to the point where we can afford to spend the money on fixing the garage up and turning it into a gym. One of the main expenses of the remodeling job is going to be updating the heating and cooling system in there. When we first moved in here, we didn’t have heating or air conditioning installed out in the garage because there just wasn’t a need for it. At that point, we weren’t going to be spending any time out there at all. We would just be there to park the cars and to unload groceries. Now, though, since we will be in that area working out, we are going to have to install a heating and cooling system of some sort. We were thinking that we might just use an electric space heater during the winter, but that doesn’t seem like it will be powerful enough to do the trick out there. At this point, our HVAC contractor is telling us that our best bet is probably to install a ductless mini split air conditioning unit. This HVAC system will be able to provide both heating and cooling in a large open space like our garage.
