I needed some cooling relief when I moved into a cheap apartment

When I first started living in a cheap apartment, I noticed instantly that there was no air conditioning.

  • Even in the lease, it said that the renter would have to take care of his/her own Heating & A/C cooling needs.

The oil furnace was gave, although I assume it’s against the law not to provide heating for the apartment. I was able to get through the tepid season comfortably after buying a really nice window a/c unit. The window a/c component came with a remote and I enjoy that I can control it from a distance. I can actually relax in our bed and adjust the temperature control settings through the night. If I am tossing and turning too much, a few clicks on the remote provides me with enough a/c to allow me to drift right back to sleep. I also love the fact that the window a/c has a timer so it will turn off automatically after a few tenths. This makes it so I am not driving up our utility bills needlessly. The cooling system is so powerful too that it makes it so most of our apartment feels cool, but I use the window a/c component in our dining room. I lived in that apartment for a few years with that window a/c unit. Now I have our own apartment and I still use it in our dining room. I am truthfully considering upgrading the window a/c component though to one of those smart window a/c units. They have a built-in smart control component and I hear they are even more energy efficient than the window a/c component that I have.
