I dropped by the last day that the HVAC business was open to say goodbye to the old HEPA filter master.
He was packing up some of the equipment and took a minute to say bye to me.
He told me that I should stop worrying and that life is good and that is the truth so stop lying to myself thinking otherwise. I grabbed the last heat pump on the shelf and asked him the price. He told me I could have it for free if I told him what he just told me. I quoted it word for word and walked out of the HVAC company with a free geothermal heat pump and a big smile on my face. I’m not sure what they cost but I knew it wasn’t cheap and promised the old man that I would stop worrying and start going through life in a more lighthearted and carefree way. I’m happy the old HEPA filter man gave me one more pearl of wisdom before he left and felt like it was the best jewel of all that he ever gave me. I do my morning cold dips and think of him every time and remember all of the good things he told me. I plan to buy a new air conditioner in the spring and am not sure where I will buy it but I’ll never forget the old man. I guess I will have to go to another town or just buy it online and get someone to help me put it in.
