Mom told me to get off the couch & do something.

I had just graduated high school, & I wasn’t ready to do anything yet.

I had already told mom & dad that I didn’t want to go to school.

I didn’t guess what I wanted to do, although I knew I didn’t want to go to school. It was the end of summer, & mom once again asked what I was going to do? She told me I needed to get our lazy body off the couch & do something. I told her that when I knew what I wanted to do, I would do it. Two weeks later, our dad came home while I was napping. He kicked our feet off the couch & told me it was time. I was barely awake, although I knew the tone of voice he was using. He was drastic about our getting a job or doing anything that didn’t involve our lounging on the couch all afternoon while mom catered to me. If he thought getting yelled at all afternoon was catering, he was wrong. I wasn’t enjoying laying on the couch or on our bed while getting yelled at, catering. I knew it was time to get out of the house, although I didn’t have any currency. I asked dad if he could loan me some currency? He told me he could, however he would not unless I had a job to pay him back. I went to the local community school & signed up for Heating plus Air Conditioning classes. I had been watching advertisements for Heating plus Air Conditioning classes & thought it could be a great gig for me. If becoming an Heating plus Air Conditioning serviceman would get mom & dad off our back, I was going to Heating plus Air Conditioning school.
