I considered purchasing a home air purification system

After all, I have never before used a HEPA filter in my house and have managed just fine with the standard HVAC air filter

After hearing so much about HEPA filters, I made the decision to learn more about them on my own. For those who don’t know, a HEPA filter is a high efficiency particulate air filter that captures up to 99.9% of dust, mold, bacteria, pollen, and other tiny airborne particles. These filters are created using products based on activated carbon and fine glass fibers. Because most residential HVAC units are not equipped to use them, using these filters will require an air conditioner that is extremely efficient. On the other hand, I learned from my research that HEPA filters are used inside air purifiers and that there are Whole-home air purification systems that can be connected to the home HVAC system. The regular air filter does a good job of trapping most of the larger pollutants inside our homes, even though it doesn’t filter the air as well as a HEPA filter does. I considered buying a whole-home air purification system after doing the research, but I learned that some of these units can cost as much as $4,000. Since the price of that whole home air purification system isn’t much more than some cheaper HVAC units, I didn’t think it was worth that much. After all, I have never before used a HEPA filter in my house and have managed just fine with the standard HVAC air filter. My HVAC service technician recommended that I change the air filter in my HVAC system every 90 days, so I will do that. And I’m confident that the indoor air quality will be sufficient for breathing as long as I continue to change the air filter.
