HVAC disaster

The HVAC technician said the leaking water was caused by a clogged air filter

I live in a small apartment with my best friend. We rent and have been living in the same unit for about two years now. I really like our apartment and our landlord is really easy to work with. We don’t normally have any problems with our apartment and just go about our day not worrying about anything. However, that all changed two weeks ago. I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and slipped on a giant puddle in the middle of the hallway. I was so confused and was wonder where the water came from. I turned on the hallway light and realized that the water was coming from the closet where our HVAC system was located. I knew right away this wasn’t going to be an easy problem to fix, but I just cleaned up the water and waited until the morning so I could call my landlord about the leaking HVAC unit. In the morning, I called my landlord and he had a HVAC technician out to our apartment before lunch time. I was happy that he was so responsive and I hope that the HVAC technician would be able to figure out what the problem was rather quickly. The HVAC technician said the leaking water was caused by a clogged air filter. He recommended that we change the air filter every three months in order to avoid this problem in the future. We thought our landlord might be angry about this, but he wasn’t at all. We are just going to have to be more careful in the future when it comes to our HVAC system.
