I was ready to call it a night when it got cold

One of our friends talked myself and others into going ice fishing last weekend.

The woman said the best time of the day to go ice fishing is at night, because the fish are more active.

Both of us waited until dark & then I headed out to the lake. My friend already had a arena set up & ready for us, so I didn’t have to stand around & wait for him to chop through the ice. It was severely frigid outside. It was in the single digits & the wind chill was even worse. My hands & our face were chilly & cold. There was no heat at all out there on the ice. I looked around & there were some people in fishing shacks. I could see smoke or steam coming out of the shacks. I knew they were enjoying heat in those sites. Jack & I caught a couple of genuinely big fish right in the beginning when we first arrived, however we didn’t have another bite for several hours. During that time, I was bored & exhausted. I wanted to go beach house & sizzling up in front of the fireplace. That said that I was acting like I was spoiled. When the temperature dropped down to 0° at 3:00 a.m., I told our neighbor that I was going to walk back to our truck & go home. She stayed there when I left & I assume she fished until the sunlight came up. It was way too frigid for myself and others to stay out there without heat. If we would have had a heated shack, I might have felt differently.
