Christmas is coming, and I need my fireplace cleaned.
Ever since I had the log cabin built, everyone joined at my house for Christmas. There was something about having Christmas in a rustic home that made it seem more like an old-fashioned Christmas. My sister, her husband and two kids would be here, along with my parents. I was hoping to have my boyfriend stay over for the holidays, unless that caused some problems for my parents. My boyfriend was an HVAC technician, and I met him when he came over to do the inspection on my furnace. He told me he knew how to clean fireplaces too, since he used to help his dad clean their fireplace. After that, we started getting closer, and I now felt comfortable asking him to come to the house while my parents were here. He showed up the morning before the holidays and started cleaning the fireplace. Mom and dad were arriving just as he got done. Before the end of the day, he and my dad had become friends, and it embarrassed me when dad welcomed him to the family. It was really embarrassing when he blushed and said he was going to wait, and pulled a box from his pocket. Mom and dad were proud to be getting an HVAC technician as a son-in-law and dad couldn’t wait to walk me down the aisle. The way they were gushing you’d think I was still living with them, but I was happy, and I will soon be the wife of an HVAC technician.
