My pals & I had been preparing for the big game for the last week.
- Every month of the university hockey season is important, but this was going to be the most important game of the year.
It would determine who had the bragging rights in the intercollegiate rivalry that dates back 50 years. Everything was set up, we had pizza, beer, and wings. Jessy brought a bottle of vodka with her to make cocktails, and Rachel brought some high octane cannabis to smoke at halftime. Just when it seemed everything was perfect, the cooling system stopped working. One moment there is crisp, cool air conditioner blasting from the air vents in the dining room, and the next moment we all heard a clattering sound from down the hallway. The main Heating, Ventilation & A/C are kept in the hallway closet. The fast inspection told me that the plan wasn’t going to work. The temps in the new home slowly started rising, but we were all too focused on the game to care. When the coach called a time out, I used that chance to phone the local Heating, Ventilation & A/C repair repair and beg them to send someone out. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech arrived by halfway. She didn’t seem to mind that we were all drinking cocktails and smoking weed. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C tech was a young lad. I could tell he was tempted but said he didn’t want to ruin his job. Before halftime was over my cooling system was genuinely working again, so I left the tech a 5-star review on Yelp.
