I have consistently been envious of those people that have enough time & money to focus on their passions & interests.
Most everybody has to do what is required of them – go to work, pay the bills, raise the kids, etc.
When I meet someone who goes to school to learn basket weaving I am a little jealous that they have the freedom to do something so frivolous. Not that I’m complaining, because my task isn’t so bad. I wouldn’t say that fixing air conditioners & gas gas furnaces is my “passion” per se, but it pays well, & I get to take most holidays off. I have consistently wanted to be a writer, but never had the time or a reason to write. They say “write what you know” & I don’t suppose anything & Heating & A/C systems. That’s why I found a sideline gig writing blogs & web satisfied about heating & cooling systems. It may not seem really exciting, even though I am really knowledgeable about Heating & A/C equipment, & I care about having a reason to stand down & write. All forms of writing are creative, even if it’s writing about the cooling capacity of the modern generation of central A/C units. It doesn’t pay a lot, but that’s okay because my afternoon task pays me plenty, I just like having a possibility to express myself creatively & talk about Heating & A/C equipment. I was doing so well with my Heating & A/C blogs that the boss asked me to start writing some plumbing blogs, too… even though I don’t suppose the first thing about plumbing!
