I think it’s seriously hard to be with someone over a long phase of time separate from running into some problems. Then obviously, everyone has personal opinions plus differences in how they see the world; unfortunately, when you are trapped in a house with somebody afternoon after afternoon for 50 years these bumps can entirely start to bother you. I realized this the hard way a few years into our marriage. I was entirely weary of my partner deciding that she was a capable handyman when she really had no mechanical skills whatsoever. But she was always starting cabin projects that she couldn’t finish; however eventually, her interest transitioned to the central heating, cooling, plus air quality control system. She started fiddling with the a/c component every time I wasn’t paying attention. If I turned our back she was likely to run downstairs plus start messing with the forced air gas furnace; sometimes I even found her trying to take the thermostat apart as if she could recode the smart laptop contained in our temperature control unit. It took myself and others a while to understand where this new air quality control obsession was coming from… And then, I checked her YouTube history. It was clear right away that my longtime partner was seeing too many DIY heating, ventilation, plus A/C service videos online. Every time she saw a new clip about an a/c component or a forced air gas furnace she couldn’t help but try her hand at the new technique. At this point, our air quality has greatly declined thanks to all her “handiwork.” I’ve also banned my partner from seeing any DIY YouTube videos for the rest of her life.
