We had to call an AC worker to the house at 10 pm

No one was in the mood to cook last Saturday.

We all felt it was better to go out for a meal now that the restaurants had reopened.

Our friend who ran a steakhouse had called earlier that week to inform the family about the offers they had. We waited for mom to return from her day at the spa, and dad drove us to the restaurant. It looked so lovely since the slight renovation, and we did enjoy ourselves. The service was just as excellent as ever. Before driving home, we stopped by the ice cream parlor to grab a treat since it was a hot summer night. We spent a few minutes on the benches enjoying the ice cream and didn’t get home until a few minutes to 10 pm. Mom was the first one inside the house, and she noticed the whole living room was hot. That didn’t sit right with her since we’d left the cooling system working when we left the house. Dad went to check the thermostat and noticed it was off. He tried working the smart thermostat manually and using the app on his phone, but nothing changed. So, we had no other choice than to contact the emergency AC service near us for assistance. They sent over an HVAC worker to inspect the cooling system and mend the issue. The smart thermostat was experiencing a software glitch and needed an upgrade to work. The HVAC worker took care of the thermostat upgrade and restored the cooling unit in our home. The emergency repair would cost extra since it was after business hours, but our parents didn’t mind.
